Cat or Cummins ????

I've never seen anything like this. Why would you want to pull a 5er. Looks like you have everything you need on the truck. With your money, you ought to go buy this thing!!:D

Well with the 5er you could have a few extra bedrooms and a lounge with couches and such, and in the back a garage with ATVs or make a bed on the back of the 5er and put a Jeep up there :)

I wonder if you could do like the articulated buses and put an accordian type of connector in there to hook the truck and trailer together? Just dreaming.

The local dealer (back where I used to live... ) sold these Renegade haulers/trailers.

You can spot them at 30,000ft - as most of them are all white... . must cost too much to spray such a big vehicle/trailer. :D

I like the idea of some of the 5th wheel trailers... . little bit of living quarters and plenty of room for toys out back.

Oh yeah, there is one for sale south of Castle Rock here in Colorado, east side of I-25. It's a private sale and got the number, should call so I can get info.

It's very similar to the one on Ebay. This one had a bumper pull trailer and a BIG generator on the bed, now the trailer disappeared, maybe sold, and the generator is now on a small tandem. I will have to take some pics!

If I call I will let you know the specs, maybe a personal look!

It's a GOOD thing!!

The back of NHRA's rag, 'The National Dragster', is chock-full of these things, new and used. Sure beats trying to tow tons and tons of toys and race cars & parts with yer durastrokacummings :D 3/4 ton. Safer and more comfortable, and the wifey can get dinner ready while yer motoring down the I'state.

Over half the 5'ers I see on the road swamp the pickups pulling them. :(

The Chassis shop I used to work for had one of these trucks, to pull the house cars. I have to say It sucked! Sure it was fancy and all, but they don't have all that much in the balls dept. A good grade without a running start would kill the speed. Th interior is a tad cramped. Very comfortable for 2 people more than that it starts getting a bit crowded. And for $110,000 it should at least come with a oven. But that just my $. 02

That's the fault of the people deciding on the specs... AND the people who bought them.

I know... you can't get a K19 Cummins in a medium duty chassis, but a 300hp Cat just ain't gonna cut it when hauling that much weight.

yeah... ... ... ... ... ... but if you can put one of these I think you'll have plenty in the balls dept.

Might have to upgrade the tires and front suspension a tad bit. A little more hood clearance also, upgrade the interstate also for 45' clearance bridges and 6,000 ton rolling chassis- minor mods. How many steer axles do you want?

I wonder how many tanker trucks full of diesel that thing burns each hour?

I test drove a Renegade RV toterhome last summer we were looking to buy. It had a small detroit 60 series 350 HP. We had it hooked up to a 45 ft race trailer that weighed in excess of 35,000 LBS. The toter was a 16 foot interior coach with a 8 ft hauler deck. I headed up the the Fourth of July pass in Idaho on the I-90 at over 60 mph. Power was not an issue. You just need to make sure you pick the right platform for the coach to be built on. That one was a FL-112 chassis.

The Volvo we have now has a 425 HP detroit 60 series, 9 speed rockwell transmission and 3. 90 gears. It has yet to find a grade in all of the rockies we have traveled that it won't take in excess of 60 mph uphill. As much as I love my dodge, There is no comparison to the HP as well as the braking power of my Volvo for vacations with the big trailer and our toy hauler.
