Powertrain Diagnostic Manuals in Canada?

2.55 to 2.99 in a week and a half!

Makes me cringe at the thought of how expensive diesel is about to become if the refineries don't change their priority of production a little bit.

Obnoxiously loud is just so subjective. The symphony emanating from beneath my hood is part of the magic that drew me to the Cummins instead of a PSD or a Duramax.

My heart sank to my knees when I got my first (quiet) Cummins school bus. Little rattle/little noise. The air compressor is louder than the engine.

HTML:
But that obnoxiously loud Ram does serve as an indication of things to come in terms of power and performance. Ram drivers embraced those diesel engines and fitted their trucks with hot-rod parts because diesels not only sip fuel, they can also churn out prodigious power.

I love it. "Prodigious power" eh? Would not have been my choice of terminology but it sounds pretty cool.

Nice find Mactruck

See, it's the 12 valve motors giving us a bad name... :-laf

Wasn't it Paul McCartney who sang. .
"Yesterday... I'm only half the valves I used to be, da, da, da, now I need a place to hide away, oh yesterday came suddenly... ... ... "

One man's trash is another's treasure. One man's obnoxious is another's music! The rattling and vibration are good to lull one to sleep (while parked of course) like a sweet pleasant lullabye.

Hopefully the saving in total refined fuel would lower both gas and diesel.

It could happen! But only if you believe that there is no greed and manipulation involved in current pricing.

Yeah? Well I for one fall asleep at the wheel. I really do. My wife must remain alert and keep an eye skinned.

Sip fuel????? He needs to ride in my truck. If 17MPG is sipping fuel, then I'd hate to see what guzzling fuel is to him.

What noise?

And while that 10-year-old Dodge Ram pickup with the Cummins turbodiesel and 18-wheeler-wannabe exhaust stacks sitting next to you at the traffic light still forces you to close your window and curse its oppressive noise
#@$%!

Silly me, I roll down my window to hear stuff like that.

Blind people complain that Prius's are dangerous because they can't hear them at a stoplight when they're waiting to cross the road. Of course when I roll up, you can't even hear yourself think. :-laf

17mpg in your truck is really good. Particularly for having 4. 10 gears. I got 16mpg stock and up to 17. 5 after starting the BOMBing process. The flatbed knocked me back to 14 though. :(

My neighbor sold his V10 powered F250 that got 9mpg EMPTY, for a '04 PSD. I get 10 pulling a trailer.

Hey, I resemble that remark... . well, almost. Mine is only 6 years old... . :-laf
