Howdy howdy howdy Oo.

I've been absent for awhile(shame on me).

Any of the old hats still around?

Whats new in the 1st gen world? Bob ever get his stick back? :D

Jay

I don't think I've been around that long, but 600hp has been put down with a VE powered 1st gen. New: a 14mm plunger head for the VE now.

600hp!!!! :--) Holy crap. I guess I’ve been away too long.

Hey everyone thanks for the welcome back. Its crazy how time flies when you’re raising a family.

The old green machine had been good to me up until a few months ago. I’ve got a lame left rear axel housing from a spun bearing some years ago. Even after putting a speedy sleeve on it doesn’t seal well for what ever reason. Gear oil fouled the brake pads and between my bad hearing and that super quiet ride I didn’t notice there was a problem until the rotor came apart. New rotors, pads and left rear wheel bearings later all is good until few weeks ago.

I went to the Reno air races with my dad. I parked my truck at his house on Friday which is about and hour and a half from my home and took his car. We got back to his place about 10pm on Sunday and stupid me had left the headlights on. :{ We were able to jump start my truck but I guess with the battery being so dead the alternator couldn’t take it. About 5 miles from my dads the alternator had a melt down. I decided to tempt fate and pressed on. I got about a half hour from home when the headlights finally went. By shear dumb luck the first exit I took had a Wal-Mart that was open until midnight and I was able to get a cheap battery to get me home.

While I was changing the battery and alternator I decided it was a good time to put on the new (pos) battery cable I’ve been meaning to change for awhile. While I was under the truck changing the cable I noticed the left front spring looked odd. The U-bolts were loose, the center bolt was broken and the main leaf is cracked half way through right smack in the center! ARRRGH! If it wasn’t for the Cummins up front I would have shot it right then and there.

Oh I almost forgot. About a year ago I broke my third power steering mount. (sigh) SOOOO next week I should receive a Skyjacker 2. 5” soft ride system and a cross over steering kit. Oo. Oo.

Hey Bob I think I might still have an old 2nd gen down pipe kicking around you could use until you get your stick back. Packs a pretty good whallop. :D

Dang Stan when did you sneak another air blower in there? Woo Hoo Oo.

Is 53psi the best you can do? Sheesh I'd expect more with all that fancy store bought stuff in there. My home brewed setup will crack 55psi and I still haven't gotten it tuned properly. :D

I do have to be careful here in the bay area though. I've gotten two letters from the bay area air quality district with complaints from concerned citizens that my truck smokes too much and may be in need of repair. :-laf

Been fighting a pump problem. Might have that resolved. Also just found a potientail problem with the HX35 on top. This is my old turbo. It's rubbing the housing and I think it happened when everything was rotated for the twins install.

Big difference is I'm trying to do this with the starwheel up as far as possible, I have the smoke screw backed out all the way, and I still have almost 3/8" of threads left on the fuel screw.

My goal is 1000# of torque and I hope all the "store bought" parts will help get there at 450 HP or so (#2 only). Well see what happens in the next month or so.

I figured you would be razzing me! :) :-laf

Might be getting one down the road but I want to work out the bugs before I do. Need to clear up the low end smoke I now have. I think a different set of injectors may be in the near future. ;)

First off gotta get the turbo thing straightened out, Piers is helping with that. Then I gotta get rid of this tank of Bio I put in last weekend, it is smoking like crazy at Idle. White smoke, really smells of French Fries.

"Mobil French Fry Factory" might be a new name for me! :) No more Bio for me, the old girl said she doesn't like it!

I hear ya on the low end smoke issue. What injectors are you looking at?

What pump issues are you having?

bgilbert- is that 14mm pump streetable?

Government Job?............

This is how funny this really is... ... ... ... ... ...

So I'm setting at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Columbus (Ohio) and I come across your reply... ... ... ... .....

Today I left the house @ 0600 and drove to Columbus. Then checked into my room next to the pool. Had some breakfast... ... ... ... . sat in the hot tub... ... ..... then attended a class about low sulfer diesel. More hot-tubbing. There was women in there too this time ;) then lunch. etc. etc.

Yeah, it's a tough job but somebody has to do it. Tomarrow, I have to set through a class about Bio-diesel.

The 14mm P&B actually cleared up some of my idle smoke, and the small puff on take off and between gears. It's kind of cool to be able to have more fuel and less smoke!

I am experiencing the same thing. I keep getting PM's from owners wanting to know if this is a smoke monster:-laf, I tell them actually less smoke than before.
