hi beam headlights flashing

i was putting on a new stovepipe on my outdoor furnace tonight while my 1 year old son slept peacefully in the truck when my high beams started flashing at me. my son did not wake up and brake out of his car seat so i blame the truck, i put it on low beam and it was fine. just wondering if anyone has had this happen.

Since they can be activated by the turn signal switch, I'd look there first. But I have never heard of this before. Curious to see what it is.
