Just saying 'Hi' to everyone in the forum. I just picked up my '98. 5 on the 5th of Oct. This is my first truck with a diesel and I absolutly love it so far. I sold my old 1984 CJ-7 to buy it and still can't get over how nice the ride is.

Already the forum has been a tremendous help, when I picked the truck up the ABS and brake light were on steady once you got rolling. Thanks to the forum I was able to check the rear wheel speed sensor and clean it off, as well as re-adjust the brake pedal switch. Once I did this, the lights are out and cruise control works great now.

The only other thing that seems wrong is a bit of an oil leak at the filter. The filter is a Fram, judging by the reaction to Fram filters on the site, I've ordered the 4,2,1 kit from Genos and will do the oil this weekend.

I should be going down to Norfolk to see some of you this Sat, looking forward to it. Hopefully someone can explain how to do the fuel fiter change, since I don't have the FSM yet.

It sounds like you are on the right track with the maintenance. Don't listen to all this stuff about Bombing your truck. You don't have to. Really, stock is OK. It really is, right guys?

Ummmm... , yeah, right! Let's see, the 4" Jardine exhaust is supposed to arrive this week. Now, if Edge will only get a fix to plug the 2001 EZ I have in the garage into my 2002.....



Stock is good, but anything can be improved upon.
