My neighbor (Garrett) was talking to his neighbor (Jerry, my two-houses-down-neighbor) and told me Jerry wanted to know if he could borrow a socket to take his prop off his cabin cruiser boat and put on a high altitude prop. He said he came from boating at sea level and wanted the different prop for up here (5000-6000 ft). HUH????

This is the same guy that bought an 03 Cummins and swore it was a V8.

Some people have money but no brains whatsoever.

The engine would make less BHP at 5000-6000 ft elevation. Therefore, his statement makes sense if he wants a prop that's matched to the available BHP - the high altitude prop would have a flatter pitch that would let the engine pull up to redline, rated RPM or whatever.

Yep is true enough. I know some of the boat dealers around GJ ask where you want them to set it up at (blue mesa, taylor rsvr, Vegas, Highline) so they can properly tune it and get the right prop put on it for your use.

I am more concerned that the guy owns a cabin cruiser, but can't buy a socket for the prop... .

Wow, so he was partially right. No, it can't be true!

Yeah, he's not the brightest bulb out there but we can't all be!

Thanks for clearing that up!
