Has anyone had heat problems with hooking the 2 beams together? I just put a relay inline but the heat seem pretty high. I am worried about the lens and the sockets.

When I first hooked up the Brite-box I had some kind of aftermarket bulbs, One blew up , made a real mess inside the hard to clean out lamp housing . I bought a set of PIAA bulbs that Britebox recommends , and They've been good for awhile.

The instructions say not to use the higher wattage bulbs with the brite box. As to my own experience I am on my second one and it has failed too with original equip bulbs. When both my first one and second one went bad the head lights would never turn off without disconecting the wires. they would work fine til then. Really makes a difference. I have driven 600 to 700 miles at a time at night with them on an the did not damage the lens. If I ever get time I will inquire about returning this one since I have been without it since last winter and I really miss it. I think if you could use one brite box for each side they would handle the higher wattage.

Josparkz pretty much answered my question. I wasn't concerned too much with the Britebox handling the wattage. I was more concerned with the bulbs and lenses.

I use relays so I am fine there. But I do use 80/100 blue bulbs. If the bulbs brake I would be a bummer but my main consern is my lens ans sockets.
