I have tons of power now with the rebuilt pump from piers but my EGTs fly off the chart. at WOT my boost will hit 47lbs but the one thing I have noticed is as my boost goes over 35 my temps rise into the red.

It was recommended to me with the pump mods that I have that I should plug my waste-gate. This has been puzzling me because if my waste-gate were working my boost would be lower and possibly my egts lower as well.

Can I put the boost elbow back in and adjust it to let my wast-gate open after around 35psi?

Thanks

John

You pretty much answered your own question.

I'd take any advice from whoever said to disable your wastegate with apprehension.

A HX40/16 turbo will really help in lowering your EGTs. Although it is generally more expensive to increase air flow, you need to do it if you add more fuel than a #8 plate.

ok??? I reinstalled the boost elbow supplied from piers when I got my #6 plate.

It made absolutely no difference in my max boost pressure.

Any suggestions?

John

*Pull the #4 fully back.

Your stock system cannot handle the fuel you are pourin into the holes.

*Stay under 3,200 RPM.

Once the RPM climbs so will your oost and EGTs. Stay in and use the full 2-3k range.

*Turbo-Master to control your boost

47 psi

At 47 psi it's only a matter of time before your HX35 grenades itself:eek: The HX35 is out of its efficiency map above 35 psi. Suggest you limit your boost to 35 somehow, unless you need a good excuse to buy a new turbo;)

#4 in a 215 pump  Been there ... did that, but not with Piers tweaking on the pump.

In mine, with the #4 set 3/4 of the way forward, it's too much for a stock HX40-16 @ WOT.
