Marco, I agree with you it sounds like a timing issue, but wouldn't you think that if it was just a sensor it would happen all the time? Or even if it was the ECM, wouldn't that be more consistant and happen all of the time? Do you think it could just be a combination of things messing up the ECM itself or the program? Maybe a reflash?

I agree with you, a sensor should do it all the times.

I'm ready to bet that your ECM has a problem. I don't think the problem you're having is software related it's most likely an ECM hardware thing.

Well, I for one am somewhat disappointed it's not the brake... seems like that would have been easist to diagnose and fix. Oh well, let us know how things develop...

I'll be sure to let everyone know every step I take on this. I searched and searched the forums hoping someone else had this problem before, but couldn't find anything. Seems like I always get the new problems. Just lucky I guess.

Well here's the latest. I had been waiting on the dealer to get the proper cable for the "co-pilot" so that I could log all of the data points when the problem was happening. Well after about waiting 2 weeks the dealer finds out that the 03 HO's won't work with the "co-pilot". So anyone that has a dealer that tries to tell them it will, question it. That was bad news. The dealer only has one scan tool that will read this ECM/truck so they use it all of the time. I talked them into letting me borrow it over night on a weekend to see if I could get the problem to happen. Needless to say, after 1/2 tank of fuel it didn't happen as bad as it sometimes does. They took a look at the data logs, sent to the the Dodge/Cummins experts and they say ~ 3psi boost gain and claimed that it was normal. They still pointed the finger to the PacBrake, since it wasn't a Jac. Needless to say, I still am not happy. Tuesday night I pulled of the brake, which was fine, and I'm going to drive the truck until it happens again and go through it again. So WARNING to all, the Dodge/Cummins experts may want you to pull off any brake other then the Mopar approved one if they can't figure out the problem.

To say the least I'm getting more frustrated. Other then this problem I love the truck and just want to get this fixed, as I think the dealer also wants to. He mentioned that Dodge has a traveling Cummins team of engineers that may be called in to assist in this problem when it happens again (provided the brake didn't do it). As I find out more, I'll keep everyone posted.
