Is driving out of the way to fuel up worth it?

The Ugly Truth About Big Oil Companies

Five Stages of Grief

(1) Denial: The initial stage: "It can't be happening. " :confused:

(2) Anger: "Why me? It's not fair. " #@$%!

(3) Bargaining: "Just let me live to see my children graduate. " :-{}

(4) Depression: "I'm so sad, why bother with anything?" :mad:

(5) Acceptance: "It's going to be OK. " :rolleyes:

I've noticed a totally different tone in the posts the last couple of days regarding high fuel prices. It seems like we may have made it to step (5) as I am seeing comments such as "I'm parking my CTD", "I taking the wife's car", "What's a cheap high milage car to get", etc.

Fill in your responses to each of the five steps.

Denial=Diesel can't be more expensive than premium gas, can it?:confused:

Anger=%#*$# Diesel can't be more expensive than premium gas!!!:mad:

Bargaining=I'm bargaining the oil companies record record profits again! and again! and again!

Depresion=How high will the price of diesel go?:eek:

Acceptance: It's just money... do I really want to leave it to my kids???:-laf

Denial- NO, I won't drive a gasser cuz it's cheeper

Anger- sh1t, I'll need fuel soon.

Bargaining- Now, where is the cheepest place? And where did I put them 10 gallon of waste oil?

Depression- I just filled up and drove down the street and saw cheeper place.

Acceptance- I guess I gotta accept the fact that it smokes more with large amounts of waste oil.

i am still stuck on anger, the last full tank of fuel i bought i paid 2. 86 for and hated doing it, took my time running that out and filled up with some of the jet A that i picked up to run the shop heaters (that i ran out the last of my diesel to go get like 60 miles away) ran about half of that out and topped up with diesel and now i have maybe 100 miles of fuel left and i don't wanna know what it'll cost to fill it :{

Denial - Never felt that way, it was more like " I know the dang price would start shooting up since I just bought the dang thing.

Anger - "Why does this always happen to me"

Bargaining - "I have to make this tank last till it goes back down to under $4. 00 per gallon. Just drive really nice till then"

Depression - "Floor it!" Depression gone.

Acceptance - Nope, back to the bargaining step.

nope two eighty six :D been driving the truck only when needed instead of for fun, which sucks because i love my truck

Do you mean $3. 86?

It's OK. I do it all the time, too. Some kind of mental block about fuel CAN'T be more than $3. 00 a gallon.

Man I must be getting old. :rolleyes:
