High hours on CR

What is Cummins hour recommendation to overhaul?



What is highest hours anyone has seen on a CR 5. 9 irregardless of actual mileage?



EG: My 2004 has approx 200K miles and 4000hrs.



One of my sons trucks, an 03 has almost identical mileage but 8200hrs.



Have seen a truck with 65K and over 6500hrs.

Well my 7. 3 F450 has 10,500hr and the cummins is a stronger motor, with proper maintenance I wouldn't be worried

use good oil and filters,change them regularly and drive untill you have a reason to repair,not a recomendation.

Maybe I should rephrase... ..... Just curious as to how many hrs are on some of the high mileage(or not) CR engines.



I am not concerned as to the hours on 03 in first post. I installed injectors in it a couple of months ago(first set) and it runs as new with no oil consumption.

Saw a few Dodges on the North slope of Alaska with 6000 hours idle time +. All the Fords with 4000 hours had 3-4 engines already. Like any common rail, if you want it to live long and be happy, keep some good injectors in it. Who cares about the hours.

I had a little over 10k hours and 531k miles on my 03 when I sold it. Still ran fine and oil analysis results were good. Lots of highway miles.
