Hi all,

Yesterday my '01 did something I hadn't read about before. After running about 150 miles I put the truck in N and it was idling at ~1200rpm. Turned key off and it continued to run. After about 5 min it was still idling high but I was able to shut off.

On the return trip I could feel the truck occasionally surge with a steady throttle. At home again it was high idling but not steady. It did shut off this time.

I pulled codes using key on/off method and got a P1693. Need to find a scanner to dig further.

Do the 24V engines have a fuel shut-off valve or is this done in the IP? Could my Edge Juice/Attitude be causing this? I did recently replace the APPS with the Williams brand unit from Timbo. Doesn't seem likely that this would cause an issue with shut-down.

Any thought would be appreciated. I hope to spend more time on it this afternoon.

Thanks, Phil

When you turned the key off, did the attitude display shut off but not the truck? Mine did the same thing and it was the juice. I sent it in and they reflashed it and no problems since. Yhey also did not charge me and I was way out of warranty.

The attitude display remained on. I remember watching to see that the EGT's were under 300 and it had not shut off. I was already considering this could be the source of the problem and have disconnected the unit. I think I will call Edge on Monday and talk to them.

I still have not been able to hook up a scanner and pull the codes. All the local parts stores around here do not have them available for customer use.

Thanks to Timbo

I wanted to throw out a thanks to Tim for taking time on his Friday evening to help me verify proper operation of the Williams APPS I had recently installed. Tim, if you find yourself in Central Oregon, look me up. Will fire up the 'Q and pour the potable of you rchoice!

Looks like my Edge unit is bad! I disconnected the Juice and there is no more CEL and the truck is running normally. I did get the code read and it was a 0237 -bad MAP sensor. I will be contacting Edge on Monday.
