High Idle feature with 04.5 6 spd ?

Has anyone with the 04. 5 6 speed had the High Idle feature programmed. I am wanting to have this done and have been told it is for auto's only.

If DC does not want to turn it on , Take it to cummins they can, or fine someone with a newly loaded DRB III tool they can do it also. On 04 an up it is already loaded it just needs to be engage.

I see you have the Auto transmission. Has anyone with the 6 speed had it done. I just want to make sure it is possible before I talk to the dealer. I did a search and havent found anyone with a manual transmission who has it working.

It is available on both (auto/manual). Save yourself some bickering and say you were unhappy with how long the truck took to warm-up. They will hook it up and have it going in 5 minutes.

Sorry to say it won't work on an 03, 48RE or 6 shooter. :{

I think the '03's do have the high idle feature. I have an '03 HO, and live in Utah. During the winter months, I would start the truck to let it warm up, and after about thirty seconds of idling, it would idle up for around five minutes then idle down. It is a 6 speed by the way.

PGoble I think what they are talking about is the ability to turn it on with your cruise control and set it from 1100-1500 RPM.

I have an appointment tomorrow morning to have it done. The tech said it would take about an hour.

Ramp idle is different than cold weather idle, 03 ONLY HAVE COLD WEATHER IDLE 03s have a DC platform. 04 and up have a cummins program and allows cummins to have the ability to program ,PTO,SPEED-LIMITER, AUTO SHUTDOWN, RAMP. And much more. 03s need to buy a module to have ramp idle. DSG module is auto start friendly and can ramp up with a remote,And they work great.

however the throtle lnkage box is hid under batt on ltr 03 6spd trucks. earlier 6spds and all autos are easy to get to

I took my truck in for it's first oil change and the tech tried to flash for the high idle. the obs said for auto only,and would not enable the high idle,he tried 3 times with the same results.

took the truck in this morning and tech could not get the program to take. said for autos only. they are going to contact chrysler and see what can be done.



there is no way for me to tell them that it will work since it doesnt seem anyone on this site with a manual transmission has had it done.

Well it seems to be official that this high idle feature can NOT be used on the manual transmission. I talked to cummins today and was told that they cant do anything with the 04 trucks since they cannot communicate with the computer. Apparently Dodge cant install the program due to safety issues. So, it looks like it is not going to happen.
