high idle in park and neutral

These last few days I have noticed a high idle in park or neutral only. And also my engine temp has been fluctuating and reading hotter than usual.

Any ideas on what may be my problem, thermostat? water pump? fan clutch?... ... .

If the weather is cool truck will idle up to keep truck temp up. How hot is it? when on highway close to 200 is normal and when idling temp will drop alot and idle up.

My coolant was low#@$%! How could I have over looked that?

Oh well... . all is good now.

i found the upper rad hose clamp was stripped and not holdin tight. so i installed a new one and now no more leaks.
