High Idle...Not High Enough

Any thoughts on how to change the High Idle value to something higher than 1000 rpms. Anytime the temp is below 10 F the truck cools right off even in high idle mode.

I don't know if dealer can do it

You would have to have a puter like the dealer(I think) to change the settings in the program if they can be changed. Cheap mod get you a stick and cut it to length and wedge it between pedal and seat if you want it to idle faster.

Dealer can't do it I have the same problem & am going to install a heater. Also checked with Cummins & got same answer. They said because everything is fly by wire & no way to over-ride the electronics.

Soon as I can afford it will put on a Pacbrake which will also help it to warm up & stay that way while in idle at job sites

How do you like the AFE? Hate the OEM but spend a lot of time on really dusty roads and really afraid of dustin the engine.
