high idle question/maybe problem..

when you guys start your truck and it's real cold out(below 30*) when it starts does it go right to 1000rpm? mine does along with the usual minute long blue vomit out the exhaust and missing idle! i'm about to drive this truck through my dealers front showroom window and demand a buyback!! just kidding but i am getting sick of a sick truck!..... james

My '03 jumps right to 1000rpm.

mine does that i posted stumble at idle question on it. I guess it is gonna have to go to the dealer when it gets cold again. I just had the re-flash done too.

Around the 30F mark my 03' will run for a minute then kick up to high idle.



When it is down in the single digits or colder it will go to high idle after just a few seconds of running.

Mine does that but without the vomit or miss. The idle up when cold is normal operation and I believe it looks at the IAT (Intake Air temperature) sensor for input.

I have noted times where the coolant is off of the cold mark but she will idle up even after driving if I stop in real cold weather and just idle.
