High Idle Question

I was thinking today (shocking I know)...

Can those of you who cheated and activated the high idle on the manuals engage the high idle while in gear?? I know it would be the same as activating the cruise... except it would work at lower speeds.

No, there is input from the speed pickup feed into the logic. If the truck is moving it will not work. I have tried to be rolling slow in 2nd gear, then apply the high idle and it does not come on.



I think it uses the same logic for the exhaust brake. (after the engine is warmed up) It shuts off at idle once you stop moving.
