Sometimes when I drive my truck on the highway at 70 - 75 for an hour or so and I get off the road my idle is sometimes as high as 1200rpm and usually 1000. Normal is about 650 - 750 and I have no problem with my B & D brake. I thought my throttle cable was sticking but that does not seem to be the problem. It does not always do this (high Idle). If I shut off the truck and start it again the idle is normal. Has anyone expierienced this?

Check the spring between the block and the pump lever. It is actually two springs wound together. There are two hooks on each end. If one of the end hooks is broken it may act like that.
