I demoed a smarty about a month ago and loved it, anyway it was cold here this morning and wanted to let the truck warm up a little before taking the kids to school. After about a minute of regular idle about 750 rpms it crept up to 1200rpms and stayed there. I went back outside and touched the throttle and it went back to normal. Went back inside and it crept back up again. So I left it. I recently put a new areomotive pump on and it has about 20 psi at idle. I don't know if this is causing it. I do know that after I removed the smarty my truck did not go back to the way it was. The lift pump doesent cycle for as long as it used to, and I think it has better throttle responce. Any ideas?

Smarty has left you with the latest reflash version of the stock software including the fast idle & shortened lift pump start cycle.

And some people have to fight to get the feature enabled!!!! Something new to do at Bombing party's. Maybe the only down side ot the change to the oil pressure gauge/Idiot light. That is if your sensor goes bad, it just "paints" 40 lbs on the gauge. I think it is ok, if you watch the gauge and know that is higher cold and lower at idle, if it starts showing 40 all the time, then the pressure sensor has failed. SNOKING

my truck does that also I figured it would when it was cold but it even speeds up after it is warm with a cold air temp it is normal the cruise control fast idle is the trick as you can step it up to 1800 rpm if you want and it really makes the a/c work well in the summer

This is built into the Smarty. To be honest, I wish it did it all the time. Regardless of outside ambient temp, and coolant temp.

I was sad when I remembered it will not do it if the coolant temp is above ??? degrees.
