Looking for a Arizona service dealer

I have a friend who has a 07. 5 CC. The dealer is telling him they can not activate the high idle feature because it is a standard. Is there anyway to get around this or a device that I can buy to allow him to be able to make it idle faster?

On standard trucks you are supposed to install a clutch switch first, but if you search the forums you'll find info on how to bypass that, and then the Dealer's star tool is used to enable it. I have it on my truck, works great.

I don't know if it's the same on a CC... . but on a normal truck if you look directly behind the e-brake and on top of the wire box there is a short green pigtail wire with rubber insulation on the end. If you strip that wire and ground it you are ready for the high-idle to be enabled through the starscan. as Coal said - read up, specially on cumminsforum.com - they have a Cab& Chassis specific forum. My only thought about getting around it with the dealer is tell them you are going to have a PTO put on the truck and you need it functional asap. Good luck... .

I guess mine would be an 07. 5 C&C (built Feb 07) and when I heard of the high idle feature I had my tech activate it and there was no mention of the switch installation. It took him 20 min to activate and didn't charge me for it. (although I tipped him $40. 00). I did order it with the PTO option, maybe that is the difference.

Ok, I had some time today so I took it into the dealer for him. After talking to them they said they could do it but they would have to put the switch on it. They did this then plugged in the computer, and found that the truck had not been threw regin and took a closer look and saw that it had no EGR valve and no DPF. Then they said they could not clear the codes and there was no way to put the high idle on. Keep in mind they do a lot of business with him and I and said there was no way they could make this work.

1) Does anyone have both the EGR and DPF removed w/ the high idle?

2) Does anyone know of a aftermarket high idle device that we can plug into the unit?

P. S. this weekend I am going to remove the EGR on mine and see if the high idle will work, It does work with the DPF gone, so we will go ahead and see if it will work. They dealer is claiming that it will not work. Thanks for your help thus far.

Well, I dunno, but I had my high idle enabled back nearly when the truck was brand new and then about half a year later I have the EGR and DPF completely gone and high idle works great still.

if possible take it to another dealership - I've had service done to mine with both DPF & EGR deleted. Sounds like they have no clue.....
