Just picked up an Adjustable High Idler from Mass diesel and was wondering if anybody knows a good place to mount it where it is accsessible, but not too visible due to the fact it does not look that attractive. I was thinking under the drivers seat, but the wires wont reach, i am guessing extending them wont affect the operation of it?. Anybody else have any tips?. Thnaks in Advance.

Been pondering the same thing. Haven't gotten it in yet because been having some warrenty work done (transfercase seal leaking). They get one more shot at it (3rd try). Just want to "Document" the problem for future ammunition if it is needed.

I was thinking of tucking it somewhere under the dash. . but haven't examined it closely yet. I also have a TurboDiesel LifeSaver to put in there.....

Let me know what you decide to do with it if you do yours before me.

Katdiesel~ little off topic but I notice you have 2001 and have a Turbo Lifesaver. Have you gotten the clock spring recall and taken it to the dealer? I have gotten the recall and have the Turbo Lifesaver(Love it too) but wondering what the dealer will do when he finds it. Really worried about warranty being voided for the most littlest of things. So wondering what you have done so far about the recall? I am holding off taking it in to the ***** dealer!!!:(

Ash Tray?

How big is the thin anyways?? I have been looking into one. Would it go in the ashtray maybe?? Not a good idea if you smoke though ;)

The box measures 2" wide, 1" tall and about 3" deep. The ashtray is a good idea since i dont smoke but i use it for storage. I will check out the fit tommorow and maybe ill do that. Wherever i decide, ill post pics and details. Thanks

The high idler is in!. Mounted in the ash tray (thanks for the idea bad340fish). Everything went smoothly. I fed the wires from the engine compartment through the rubber grommet by the master cylinder and right over to the back of the ashtray. I did not have to modify the wires, the length was fine.

I took the ashtray out and used a Dremel tool with a cutoff wheel in it to cut a slot in the left rear of the ashtray to allow the wires to move with the curvature of the hinge. It looks and works great. If anybody wants pics, let me know and ill post them here.
