Diesel Dynamics preformance vp44?

Just installed a Practical Solutions Diesel Products Adjustable High Idler.

I was very impressed with the quality of the product and the detail of the installation instructions.

The installation took about 45 minutes and worked as advertised.

The only problem I had was with the recommended location for the switch. They recommend puting it on top of the steering column. I put below the column on the left side near the hood release.

The only other thing I i wish it had was a LED to let you know when it was on.

Both the problems are a matter of personnal taste not a put down of the product.

If anyone has been thinking about a high idler i would suggest you look into the Pracical Solution piece.

I also have the High Idler from PS, it worked great this past winter. It would be nice to have a LED light on the unit. I mounted mine on top of steering column, so far no problem.

Have Always Wondered????

Been wondering about this product and our cummins sitting there idling. Here is the question... ... As long as our engines RPM is at around 1100 rpm it can idle all day long? How high should they idle if they are going to sit for awhile? And how long can they sit at the ideal idle?

Jason

PS... . Just checked out their web site... . not much data on this product... ... . Someone know where we can go to read more about it?

You're right Jase-there isn't much on their site about it. I suggest you call Gordon at the phone # listed on the site if you have any questions. He's a super-good guy-I have never heard anyone on here say anything negative about him or his products. I know I love my fast-idler... . use it every day. I also have his Intake System Saver and the HD idler pulley-although the pulley's been awaiting install now only for a year or so.....

I have mine mounted down where cscott put his as well-I didn't want to block any of the warning lights in the dash. I bump it with my leg once in a while on exit of the vehicle-nothing major though.
