Happy Friday!

I'm returning to the Cummins world and looking for a used fourth gen 3500, qc, 4x4, srw. I have noticed something curious (to me)...It seems there are a lot of 2010 and up trucks for sale with between 125 & 150k miles on them. Is there a major wear item/maintenance cost on these trucks at 150k miles or is that just a common
"get a new one" point?

basic's in my eyes would be U joints/axle joints , tie rods, ball joints, all basic wear and tear at this point,IMO
and HOPE fluid changes were done as needed/recommended to ensure life of diffs/trans/motor!
 
Thank you. I wasn't sure if the 6.7/68rfe had major maintenance around the 150k mark and people were dumping them rather than paying for it....

I'm not familiar with the older 4th gens but I would be concerned about exhaust systems parts......particulate traps, cat converters and such.

Generally buying used, is buying someone else problems...So factor that into the cost, If asking Top $ it had better be perfect with maintence records. I tell everyone that calls here and ask the same question as OP, and I tell them ALL, Figure on $5K in repair costs.
