Just replaced the fuel solenoid on a new customer's '95 2500 with 614k on the clock. This is the first repair to the engine. One starter, one trans rebuild, thats it!!! No sign of seepage at the head, nothing. Runs like a top. Changes oil at 5k, and has never had to add any. For those of us with "low" mileage trucks, this makes me a little more secure.

But then, we all know *$#& happens.

Yep, about a year ago I bought a '96 truck that had 638k on it. All stock and never been apart. Needless to say, I bought it for parts. It was run by a lot of different drivers an got beat. Still ran like a top tho!

That gives me the warm fuzzies... I just rolled 170,500 on my 95. I guess that I will have to wait for my wife's Chevy diesel to die before I buy a new truck... :-laf

Mine rolled over 247K yesterday hauling a heavy load. It runs better than it did when it was new. The rest of the truck is in really good shape considering the miles. Amazing vehicles!

Mine is at 275,000 and I've just begun to bomb it. As a matter of fact it'll have a #10 plate installed next week. Runs like a clock and very strong. No major work done (thus far). My mechanic has been hounding me to sell it to him but ... ... ... I love my cummins

I have 240K on mine and I just had to replace a ac compressor the other day and just a starter and a alternator and KDP fix. I thought about upgrading to another 98 12 valve stock 5spd that I found for sale here that only had 50K miles on it, but those miles on mine adds a lot of character. I'll still out run other vehicles.

Cool... Mine has a tick over 250K... bought it with 249K (no... don't drive it much yet... ) I'll still feel better after I get it checked out by somebody with CDT experience... need time... :(

My '96 is at 407,700 at the moment, headed on a road trip this weekend pulling the boat.

There have been quite a few 12-valve trucks surpass 1 million miles that I have read about on this board and in the TDR magazine over the years. The highest I knew of personally was a guy in Indiana with 1,240,000 on his '91 before he sold it. . . got $4000 for it too. Hadn't ever had any internal engine work, just a new inj. pump and injectors at 600k.

One of our TDR members, RVPILOT, had 810,000 miles last April on his 96, 3500 Dodge/Cummins and he uses Delo400 oil every 5 to 7K miles with no engine work.

my new to me 97 has 234k on it. all stock but i cant stand it. im gonna add a plate but i do worry about the long term reliability of it. we shall see.

high miles

I am still on the road, now has about 830,000. To bad Dodge parts are not up to Cummins standards. but that may be true of all truck parts used, however if it's a furd or duninmax the parts and engine will all go out together. call the junkman. Stormy

I get regular "i'll buy your truck" offers from strangers I meet all about New England. It's a '98 5-speed with 130K on the clock and no rust. Someone Friday offered 18grand. As I told that gentleman, I keep the truck until it or I stop working. You gotta love these older trucks that never quit.

Also, my truck runs better the older it gets. No kiddin'.
