Does anyone sell a High preformance VP-44 that does not void the warranty with the pump wire tapped? Getting ready to replace mine and I like my comp box(I like being able to turn off, or adjust power).

If not, are there any other combinations that will give me the same performance and adjustability?

I pull a 12,000 lb. camper sometimes.

I just installed the II HRVP, I checked around and no one wants to warranty the pump with the wire tapped. Right now i am running the dd2's and the comp in EZ mode, the truck runs very good. I think if I put a Phat shaft 62 on I will not tap the wire. Right now its just a testing process for me. I really do not want to ruin the pump, another 1600. 00 pump replacement and the wife will give me the boot. LOL

Don't tap that wire!

Elendon1201, If you tap the wire you will void the warranty... Get the pump installed, add like DD stage 2 injectors and a plug- N- play box like an EZ, and you will have plenty of power for tow and go...

I belive that if you tap scheid's pump they will still warranty it but only on mechanical parts and NOT eletronics. Good Luck

Yeah thats where I am now dd2's HRVP FASS comp in EZ mode runs great. Will feel even more when my DTT comes in. Oo.

Give the boys at Industrial Injection a call to confirm, but this is way I understand how the warranty works on all their VP44's:

No pump wire tap = full 1 year warranty

Pump wire tapped = 1 year warranty on mechanical parts, no warranty on the electronics.

Sounds like if you do tap the pump wire on one of their pumps and the electronics fail, they will work with you on getting the PSG replaced. Its a fairly expensive part and about 4 hours of calibration on pump stand. Beats having to buy an new pump! How many pumps die because of worn out electronics, tapped pump wire or not? I'd be willing to bet its a pretty small percentage compared to mechanical issues (most common being lack of fuel delivery to the pump).

I am a disributer fir II and my understanding is if the wire is tapped, or you are outside of the one year warranty, and you burn up the electronics they will replace the electronics for a MUCH more reasonable price. You won't have to buy a whole new pump, but they will need yours for a few days. Hopethis helps.
