Guys, my vp-44 just bit the dust and I was wondering if there is a high performance or upgraded vp-44 injection pump on the market? I really would like to upgrade because I've got twins coming in the near future and this pump hasn't handled the TST comp I have now. My lift pump hasnt been the problem either because my fass system has kept my pressures at very acceptable levels. Can someone please help?

I think Diesel Dynamics does High Perf VP-44's but they only do new pumps that you send them and and they wait for 5 pumps to do run. This is what I was told not to long ago and they are very expensive to boot.

I keep hearing vague references to "high performance" VP-44's - but haven't seen any details, or specific info as to whether changes or mods are purely related to added POWER/performance, or addresss DURABILITY and reliability...

*I* would be FAR more interested in an upgraded VP-44 that was specifically aimed at whatever is needed to address known weaknesses that have been most ofter proven to cause early failure.

THAT is the best "high performance" for MY $$$$!;) ;) ;)

Gary, I dont have all the details but from talking to several people who do my understanding is the tolerances in the "Hot Rod" 44 are night and day differences in compared to our stockers and thus is increasing reliability on several levels. Now after a little more details about those tolerances my eyes kinda glazed cuz I had no clue what they were talking about

If you are interested in talking with someone who has the details and is close to the process, PM me, I can give you a contact # and person to talk with.

There seems to be a lot of focus and concern over the lifespan and reliability of the VP-44 - and I understand the desire of the small handfull of outfits/individuals modifying those units to "protect their turf" (propriatary, company secret... ) - but still, a bit more than smoke and mirrors and more openness would sure help a fella to be assured he was really getting the improvement he THOUGHT he was getting...

I mean, what the hey - we KNOW and have been SHOWN what DTT and ATS actually DO with their transmission and TC mods - why should THIS be any different?

Even a generalized overview of what is done to those "upgraded" units that was placed out in public - either in this forum, or in the TDR magazine would sure make good reading... ;) ;) ;)
