I need some suggestions here. My high pressure fuel lines have started to leak a little where they connect to the head. It's not bad just a little seepage but, enough to notice. I did remove three lines when I replaced the VP44 the others were not touched. I know there is a torque spec. but how in the world can you get a torque wrench on them? Whats the best way to go about stopping the leak?

Thanks in advance,

Scott

crows foot. be careful of the alignment as the ends of the lines can be damaged . also be sure the sealing surfaces are CLEAN as anything in there will cause a leak. :)

In addition to making sure the ends are clean. put just a little high pressure grease on the threads of the nuts and the bearing shoulder where the nut rubs the tip of the line. That will help you get even tightening on the nuts. The exact torque is not so critical, just get them around 25-30 ft lb. When I got a bit of leakage, I was usually able to cure it by using very fine (600 grit) aluminum oxide paper on the tips where they seal to the 24-valve connector tubes (or to the tops of the injectors on a 12 valve). Remove the line first and carefuly spray with solvent several times so you re sure there is no grit left when you re-install the line.
