Does anyone know how to plug off or shim this valve on the fuel rail. My truck is in the shop to have the third one replaced. I haven't run my edge box since the first one went out in Dec. so it isn't an over pressure issue from a box, I never ran higher than level 2 anyway. This valve is a "star" part and the dealer has to get permission from DC to order it. The dealer can't stock this part and I have to wait for it to come in. This is starting to get old and is costing me quite a bit of money since I make my living with this truck.

I'm also having a problem with injectors, but that is a story for another day.

yes there is a couple people selling rail caps. I am more than certain one will chime in shortly. :D

they are

NADP

Floor-it diesel and

NGM diesel

well i have a 2004. 5 325/600 and i will be puttimg on a tst box and a fass 150 pump (just the pump itself) going to hopefully fun it threw the stock fuel filter , so do i need rail cap ?

Oo. hey man i can get you a stock set up or you can be done with the problems and we can get you a rail cap kit, pm me for priceing or you can call. thanks :-laf

I TOOK ONE OF MY RELIEF VALVES APART AND THE SPRING INSIDE WAS PRETTY SMALL AND HAS VERY LITTLE SPRING RATE, I AM NOT SURE HOW IT GETS DAMAGED SO EASILY UNLESS IT COIL BINDS, I USED SOME CATERPILLAR SHIMS TO TIGHTEN IT UP, IT FEELS THE SAME AS A NEW ONE, BUT I DONT KNOW WHAT PRESSURE IT IS SET AT SO I TOOK IT OFF IN CASE I LOSE ANOTHER ONE... ... I WILL HAVE A WAY TO GET BY UNTILL I GET A NEW ONE

Oo. the problem is not the pressure of the spring but that it can not handle constant cycling that a pressure box can produce----even stock power can kill them... ... .

The problem I had was that it was taking longer and longer to crank (start) the truck. I went over a week with never shutting the truck off after I finally got it started in the morning while out on a run. Friday morning I was leaving the house to go on a job and it wouldn't start at all. Missed that job, one later that afternoon and one for tomorrow morning. Like I said, it is costing me money.

Diesel Power, I'll be calling you Monday.

EB, I would be more concern with what is causing it. Just a thought, if you install any type of restriction you may find what is the main cause with allot more expense than a valve.

the only thing thats causes valves to go are the quality of the material in the valve ( 1st suspect) or the pressure box your running is on constantly---the valve cant handle stock pressure in most cases :D

He is on his Third, almost all of the issues associate with this valve is spike Pressure, NOT constant, your thought on quality control on three valves is highly unlikely.

sorry bud but i have seen a record of 6 valves replaced on one truck also a 03, the valves are not very strong, what else do you think would cause the valve to break?---pressure box or weak valve! right, the cp3 only makes 23,209 max in stock form!!

I am not running a pressure box. It has been a stock setup, since December. I ran the edge ez on level 2 for about 270,000 miles without any problems. Since I have taken it off I have gone through 2 of the valves. Maybe I should put it back on.

somthing you may want to consider is the symtoms of a bad cp3 are the same as a bad valve! you may want to check the return flow on the cp3 before you buy another valve :-laf
