Sounds like good stuff!

I'm guessing the pump pumps at a higher speed. But when I first saw it, I wondered if it was a sales gimmick for a special quality of diesel. I had a full tank, so I didn't stop for fuel.

I will take a few drums if it is only $3.79/gal!

I fill in Virginia, last 100g was 3.20 last weekend.. gonna top off tomorrow. sitting at 3.75 here in NC now after a Ukraine War price hike of 20c. Probably will go higher soon, but nowhere near what you all are paying out on the West Coast!!

I bet they have a pyramid of "Platinum DEF" next to the High Speed Diesel.

Yeah, they advertise their "diesel efficient" fuel as being better than the competition.

I get a real kick out of the sales gimmicks.

Well here in Kommiefornia branded diesel is running right at $5. Passed a Shell station and it was posted $5.29/gal. But, Brothers, the roads are like driving on glass, the sky is blue, there are no homeless, and no crime! Just ask Nan's nephew.

Just aid $3.699 at Sam's Club on Wednesday. Got $250 worth since it's not where I need to go that often. Sure is nice having the 100g transfer tank to take advantage of lower price when I find it! Local around me is right at $4 - $4.25! Plus the 4% cash back HELPS!:)

Yesterday in Jo City, AZ.

Same day in Holbrook, AZ about 7 miles to the East. Truck stops have been stealing the big trucks blind in Arizona.

The good news 45.5MPG hand calculated in my 445K 2000 VW Beetle 1.9L TDI still the original injectors.

The bad news same not near an interstate station and still a low speed pump today is $4.899 $.95 increase in 8 days.

Just reporting the local news.

It's jumped around here also! $4.10 - $4.90 depending on where you're at. I've been using Gas Buddy to keep track of pricing. Getting another transfer tank prepped to get another 52 gallons of fuel. Usually the small tank was just for the tractors but I can get on road fuel cheaper then off road. Will hurt when going to fill 152 gallons of fuel! But on the bright side, that should last me 2-3 months unless we go out of town. Puts a real damper on wanting to go enjoy the spring foliage that's about to bloom!

Hmmmm...researching this interesting claim I found:

THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF DIESEL FUEL: #1,#2, AND #4
UNCATEGORIZED
Written By: Diesel Power Products
Diesel fuels are broken up into 3 different classes: 1D(#1), 2D(#2) and 4D(#4). The difference between these classes depends on viscosity (the property of a fluid that causes a resistance to the fluid’s flow) and pour point (the temperature at which a fluid will flow).

#4 fuels tend to be used in low-speed engines. #2 fuels are used in warmer weather and are sometimes mixed with #1 fuel to create a competent winter fuel. #1 fuel is preferred for cold weather as it has a lower viscosity. It used to be standard to see the fuel # on the pump, but a lot of gas stations do not state the fuel number anymore.

AND, It Still Runs:

4D Usage
4D fuels are only used in very low-speed engines such as those in stationary units or marine operations.

Cold Weather
1D diesel fuel has lower viscosity and a lower pour point than 2D, so is preferred for cold weather.

1D Considerations
1D diesel fuel has only about 95 percent of the energy output as 2D, causing reduced gas mileage and lower horsepower.

2D Fuel
2D fuel is used in warmer weather, and also can be mixed with 1D for an effective winter fuel.
And ATSM D975-21:

According to ASTM D975-21: Standard Specification for Diesel Fuel Oils, there are seven diesel fuel grades:
Grade No. 1-D S15
Grade No. 1-D S500
Grade No. 1-D S5000
Grade No. 2-D S15
Grade No. 2-D S500
Grade No. 2-D S5000
Grade No. 4-D
Please note that three of these are variants of Diesel #1, and three are of Diesel #2. The distinction here is sulfur content, meaning that Grade No. 1-D S15 is a special-purpose, light middle distillate fuel at a maximum of 15 ppm sulfur.
Grade No. 4-D includes more viscous middle distillates and blends with residual fuel oils.

Digging deeper:

See Link ^^^^ (Digging deeper) for better rendition of chart info listed below...

Table 1
Diesel Fuel Grades - Grade Description - Max Sulfur

No. 1-D S15 15 ppm
No. 1-D S500 500 ppm
No. 1-D S5000 5000 ppm

A special-purpose, light middle distillate fuel for use in diesel engine applications with frequent and widely varying speeds and loads or when abnormally low operating temperatures are encountered. Higher volatility than that provided by No. 2-D fuels.

No. 2-D S15 15 ppm
No. 2-D S500 500 ppm
No. 2-D S5000 5000 ppm

A general-purpose, middle distillate fuel for use in diesel engines, especially in applications with relatively high loads and uniform speeds, or in diesel engines not requiring fuels having higher volatility or other properties specified in Grade No. 1-D fuels.

No. 4-D

A heavy distillate fuel, or a blend of distillate and residual oil, for low- and medium-speed diesel engines in applications involving predominantly constant speed and load.
Still, better than Bunker Oil...

Is it "high speed" at that station because they removed the clogged water filter for a quicker "in and out" fill? ;) Just kidding...I hope...o_O

Nice dig. It'd be nice if all pumps specified.

Surface streets are pitiful here. The massive increase in sales tax per gallon is a windfall for the local and state governments. let's see where Newsom hides it. Love the satire. Vote Red folks. Folks of both political persuasions are tired of the poo pooing of crime and the parasites who sponge off the middle class.

ughh...... Really, is there no topic where we can simply discuss things without personal political opinions being interjected...

I dont care about your red, blue, yellow, purple crap and frankly I am tired of it rearing it ugly head in everything these days... fantastic you have an opinion... thanks for sharing
