Recently I had a water pump failure and lost a fair amount of coolant before I discovered the problem. Temps got to 225 on the way back from Carson City. I live about seventy miles away.
So I did the water pump replacement and and replaced as much coolant as I could get to drain out being careful to purge the air dome.
Then the fun started.
The truck gets to 150° in a few minutes and after half an hour it's near 200°.
In quick succession I began getting DTC's P1451 Turbo output temp too low first then P242F DPF Ash accumulation followed by P2262 Turbo controller issue and finally P0489 EGR control low..
I cleared each one and none of them have returned but I'm now running at 210° on a mild grade that I used to run at 190°. Granted we are having 100° weather but this started before the weather got hot.
I know power connections can influence this kind of thing but they're all tight and so are the grounds. The batteries are six months old and a quality brand. They load test great.
I'm about to do my EGR cleaning routine so I'll see if that has any effect. The ash accumulation code worried me but it hasn't recurred nor have any of them. Is it possible that coolant might have compromised a connection on the ECM? Electronics are generally not fans of moisture but we get snow and rain here and it's never been an issue before.
My current mileage is around 170,000 previous mileage was from different truck.
I'm interested to hear any suggestions.
