I'm looking for higher wattage bulbs in 9004 & 9007 for offroad use. I have the Quad beam lights so I would need both #'s. Anyone know where to get these at. The Piaa's I have were a waste of money :(

i was glad to see your post. had benn considering piaas for my new sport... ..... not to mean i'm glad you don't find 'em effective, just glad i didn't order 'em before i read your post. sorry they haven't worked out. i bought "high wattage" (100/80's from jc whitney--maybe that's the problem), and didn't think they were any better , if as good, as the oem bulbs. took 'em out and replaced with Wagner BL. i had replaced all four both times. the wagners are better thatn the oems or the high wattage. i think, next, i'll add the bright box from Geno's Garage. you can see what you think of it by pulling back on the diimer handle and holding it there when you have the lights on dim. Wgner bls are liked by some folks and not by others. i definitely don't like the HID imitations i've seen, which are just "blue tinted". i can't see with them at night as well as with the oems.

redneckdr----Unless you use a aftermarket relay setup for them, you won't really get any better results with higher wattage bulbs. APC sells wiring harness upgrades that plug in between the bulb and the harness. Just have to connect a ground and a pos. wire to batt and boom, full voltage to the bulbs. The factory harness really chokes down the juice to the headlights, just check the voltage and the wire size. You would notice a improvement even with the oem bulbs. They are kind of pricey though at around $60 per set, and we need two! Other manufacturers make these also but I personally don't know who. I made my own relay pack with my ol' jeep cherokee and just with the standard bulbs the difference was like night and day

Had a set of 90/140 h4 conversion headlights on it :D :D Never did figure out why everyone flashed his lights at me:rolleyes:

By the way, IMHO, I think part of the problem WAS where they where purchased from. Try Hellas, thanks to Cooker I now know they exist... .

yeah, i knew when i worked with the system, the wiring was too light. i was aggravated to find out that dodge used a switched ground on my truck. i haven't had more time to sit down and think that through, about how to upgrade the wiring. that will happen. other BOMBing takes precedence for right now. i hope to finish the exhaust this w/e, then on to gauges. i've benn putting off the gauges because of the cost, but that's next..... thanx for your response...

The part # for the 9007 is 50. 9106. The 9004 (if you have the quad beam lights) are listed with 2 part #'s. They are 50. 9100 and 50. 9104. I can't tell you what the differences are for I haven't purchased them yet. They are from APC, (american products company). I'll post results when I get them for those that are interested.
