Competition How many turbos is this????

Competition A puller rescues a would be drag racer

Today I dynoed at HPE in Houston Tx. After chasing the 700hp mark for awhile I finally broke it. My truck dynoed 748hp(uncorrected on a dynojet),I was really surprised to see the number so I made another to back it up,same 748hp. Now I hope to get to the track this weekend to see if i can get into the 11's. The last time i went i ran a 12. 42@109mph and that was when i was dynoing in the 640hp range. I hope now with another 100hp can get there. My question to some of you faster guys is , with each increase in power my truck gets it is starting to get a nasty wandering problem. My truck 60fts. a 1. 70 and the truck wants to pull from side to side, its never the same and Ive checked everything I could think of . Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks,RC

are you running in 4wd ??

I have noticed a lot of trucks, when launched in 4wd, it looks like the front tires are pointing in the the middle, almost like the tie rod is bending under the load. if this is happening, and one side 'gives' more than the other, it will make your truck do exactly what you say it does... and with more power, you will have more 'give'.

holly snap neck!!

Thats is crazy hp. Like Lmills asked, Ar there any other mods other than whats in your sig?

Thats just C-R-A-Z-Y... I bet that thing on the street is quite a handful

awhhh, come'on RC. you can tell us. We're good at keeping secrets...

The main question is are these numbers Diesel only? Or maybe a little funny-gas? :-laf

I dont admit or deny anything, but if that hp number is attainable just by adding nitrous why isnt everyone doing it?

the one time I sled pulled I got the same thing. the front differential is open if one tire slips then the other you get an oscillation from side to side. It doesn't take much to make a real handfull.

As usual you misread a post and twist it around. Nobody said it was JUST nitrous, but I can guarantee you it was in the factor. Tomey asked if you used nitrous or if it was a #2 run. I said, it was definitely not on #2 only. As for everybody doing it... ... . a lot of us prefer to see how far we can push the common rail on #2 alone. I couldn't give a careless if you did you nitrous, pane or both. I just made a comment. Really, if you think guys like me and Tomey don't mind doing our own leg work and finding out how to make HP, you are obviously wrong.

lmills,my comment was not intended to be offensive,I know that many people here are #2 only guys and thats great. I dont know you or Tomey but from reading your post you both seem pretty smart and you both are making power, so guess we are all doing something right.

haha, there will for sure be a N20 kit on my truck some time, Just not until I get some showerhead injectors, etc, etc

Heck, big single and N20 seems to be the in thing nowadays in drag racings!

You must have a set of fairly large injectors, right? Care to tell? ;) - Maybe 5 hole 14thou's or bigger??!

Sorry, didn't mean to seem offensive either. I must have took the post you made the wrong way. Anyway, I really do want to see the 3rd gens continue to excel.

Also, please keep us up to date on how the track times go. I want to see some 3rd gens in the 11's. :D

RCCox and TDR Members:

Those are some good numbers on your 2004! ;)

FWIW,... . my son who goes by "banshee" on this website has a 2004 Dodge CTD CR set up similar to yours with the fueling boxes but with Scheid's Twin Turbos and a 6-speed tramsmission and he recently hit 677 H. P. /1190 Torque on a "heavy" Dynojet 248 at "Carolina Auto Masters" in Durham, N. C.

That was a "corrected" run and he was shooting a small amount of NOS. His #2 diesel run was just shy of 600 H. P. His best 1/4 mile time so far with that 6-speed has been 13. 2@104 MPH at "Coastal Plains Dragway" in Jacksonville, N. C. I believe Piers Harry also hit around 650 H. P. on just #2 Diesel with his Dodge CTD CR.

I realize those 1/4 mile times are not as quick as an auto, but IMO that is pretty darn good for a 6-speed!

RC,

Good job on the HP#! Can't wait to hear what it it runs in the 1/4 . I think Jason's truck will be wicked fast if he puts down that kind of power.

Jasons truck is coming along,Chris just finished a 06 megacab that put 682hp down on the dyno. The truck is nutty, its only got 1200 miles on the clock.
