Competition Hightest fuel pressure out of the F.A.S.S

I was wonderin how much pressure you can get out of the FASS fuel pump. I have a 24v and want to use it for a p-pump. . And how do i get the pressure...

I have mine shimmed up to 36 psi. You shim up the return port on the fass unit. If you remove the fitting out of the fass unit it has a spring behind it. The lighter the spring the lower the pressure and the stiffer the spring the higher the pressure.

i've herd of pressure as high as 120psi out of the fass----but it did not last very long :-laf :-laf

MAX pressure for the following:



95 GPH: 70 PSI

150 GPH: 22-25 PSI

(95 GPH pump with EM-1002 Motor): 130+ PSI

200 GPH: 80 PSI



Anything more will drastically reduce the life of the motor. These are the pressures that the ideal motor amperage is achieved. All new FASS systems have a high pressure relief built into the t-block that will not allow you to exceed these pressures. It’s important to check for return flow back to the tank after every spring change.

Why are the lower rated GPH rated for more psi than the bigger motors?

What kind of shims are used to shim the spring?

Justin, I believe you can just use a washer to take up space and make the spring stiffer, stretch the spring out some, or order a replacment spring.

Less volume... less load on the motor... ... you can go up higher in pressure.



We dont use any shims..... BUT I'm not saying that a washer or 2 couldnt work. Just make sure you are getting return flow back to the tank... ...

Is the spring holding the ball before the return line the only way to change pressure. The guy I purchased my FASS from told me there was another spring I needed to get to make my FASS 150 run 40psi? I supposedly bought a 150 40psi but had to get the right spring and then this guy said something about another spring to make the pump run a true 40psi pump. (Note to self get guage) So basically how many and where on pump are springs located that you can change? So of this guys talk big but real dont know much. Thanks for your help Comp. Forum.

150 GPH: 22-25 PSI

You will not be able to run 40 PSI with a 150 GPH unit. The T-Block is set to go into bypass at 25 PSI. If you ran 40 PSI on this kit, the motor will not last. You would need the 95 GPH or upgrade to the two larger Motor Kits.
