Hi I have read a lot of the posts about hissing under the dash around the brake pedal shaft going into the hydrabooster. But I checked the hose for the liner being dislodged and found that there was not a problem there. My 2004 Dodge 2500 Cummins just started hissing out of the blue. It only happens when you turn the steering wheel, it goes away if you push on the brake pedal or return the steering wheel to the normal straight ahead position. I am unsure as to what to check or replace now. To give a little more back ground the truck has roughly 160000 miles on it and I just bought it. I have maybe put 400 miles on it when this problem started. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

On my 11' it was the high pressure hydroboost hose on the power steering. The plastic liner separated from the hose and got stuck into the
hard line tubing. A new high pressure hose solved my hissing problem.

I took the hose off where it went into the hydrobooster into the hard line and did not see that it had come apart like that. Thank you for the picture and and description. Was yours up at the hydrobooster or at the other end of the line? Thanks for your help.

The plastic liner became dislodged in the high pressure hose at the hydroboost side. I changed both hoses since there was an engineering change. I would check the other hose as well. This was a late 3rd gen, early 4th gen issue. I'm not for sure about 2004 models?? Hopefully someone else can chime in. Good Luck

The hissing sound from the booster that changes with steering or especially brake input is most likely a piece of the liner trapped. Perhaps they noticed it and cut it off before they sold it and a piece got stuck inside the hydroboost. Might take the high pressure lines completely off as well as the HB and inspect everything closely.
