I need to install a new 5th wheel hitch in my truck, not sure what I will be pulling most likely 34' or less. I had a Hi-Jacker 21K under bed mount pulling a NuWa Snowbird 34’ in my other truck. . Good Hitch other than the release handle being a bit difficult to get it to release at times. Looking for opinions on the current hitches on the market? To be installed in a ‘07 3500 dually.

Reese. One of the, perhaps the oldest hitch manufacturer in the US. Reese still builds well designed hitches and builds them using quality materials.

I have owned Reese dual cam hitches for conventional travel trailers and have had a Reese 20k fifthwheel hitch since about 2003 that has pulled fifthwheels at least a couple hundred thousand miles. It still works as well as it did new.

The jaws still fit tightly around the kingpin allowing no slack or "thunk" when starting and stopping as some of the new no-name hitches do when new out of the box.

I installed a new Reese Elite series 25K hitch on my 2012. It was expensive but worth it. The under bed mounting is solid and clean. The truck bed is clean with the hitch removed. The hitch releases easily if I pull the handle before taking weight off the truck. My last Reese had the hell worked out of it and was still good. I did not reuse it as it went with the truck. The Elite series also look good, not that looks should be a criteria for choosing a hitch.

B&W Companion. Very high quality! Remove and have a clean bed, no rails. No question if you are hooked or un hooked. No holds to drill in the frame. Do your self a favor and check one out. Tweets RV is a good place to buy.

Hitch

Thanks for the info, the problem I had with the Hi Jacker was just that, when you started it did clunk and at other times. Adjust it and it was hard to get loose so i just lived with that to keep it tight. It did remove easily and left the bed clean.
