THUMP..what the??

A friend of mine at work wants to pull a boat behind his 3500, but his hugeass camper overhangs too far. Has anyone used any receiver extensions? Are there any available that are stronger than just a straight tube(bracing, etc. )?

Thanks Guys.

Hope he gets on here to read this, then he'll be hooked too. Loaned him issues 29 & 30 to get him started. #ad

I built my own, it uses a triple reciever. I added a reciever at each end plate of the hitch tube to form a triangle. The single hitch reciever extensions seem to have a large amount of lateral sway and hitch bounce. I tow about 8 to 9,000# cargo trailer behind a 9. 5' camper.

Duneracer is correct... I use the www.torklift.com superhitch and extension. . have never had any troubles since the one was installed on the old 92 cummins, nor on the 99 Cummins. They are built strong!
I have towed 11,000 lbs on my extension with no problems.

RKohn, I made my own hitch for I had to extend beyond the normal reach for camper overhang. Mine is a 3 inch receiver which accepts a 2& 1/2 inch stinger. Inside the 2 & 1/2 I slide a 2 inch receiver the full length. All tubing is 1/4 wall thickness, seamless. Thus far pulling a 4 horse trailer I haven't had any signs of fatigue.

Buddies have pulled up along side while traveling and say there is absolutely no slop or sway to the hitch. I do plan to install equalizer bars in the near future just for added security even though I probably don't need them. Dave

The Torklift Superhitch is the BOMB to drop on your buddies reciever, he wont be sorry!!
