hitch install

Hi all,The guy we bought our 2003 5er from is bringing to the house Saturday and dropping it off and we are going to pull the hitch out of his truck. His is a 01 mine is a 2000 both short bed's PLEASE tell me all I need to know about the install ,or is this something after we get his out that I should just go to the local rv dealer and let them do it. The hitch is a reese 16k signature series slider. I have put in my own injectors and do all of my own maintenace, so let me know if I should try or pay someone. yes you can do it your self and save about two hundred dollars. Go to Reese web site and get the install information for that hitch mod. and year of manufacture. Suggest new bolts and nuts if you can afford them ,Class five or better . Hope this helps. Ron Bissett in Metro Louisville Ky
