Has anyone had a chance to dyno an HO 6 speed with an Edge EZ yet? I would like to get an Edge EZ for my truck, but I'm a little apprehensive yet. There doesn't seem to be alot of feedback on this box! Maybe not enough in use yet! Any feedback of first hand experience with this product would be great! Thanks in advance!

i too am eagerly awaitin the results of an 03 ez dyno. esp the 4 level ez, a new version.

we had a new 03 with the bullydog box at the 12/14 dynoday in idaho. [see event sec] 262 stock and 372 w/ box. impresive for box alone. the 110 hp box is still in testing stage. 50 hp bullydog box is available. ez will suposably add 75 rwhp on level 4, 30 on levl 1 . i also undrstand the first version of ez adds 75 rwhp also

The latest EZ from Edge has 4 levels. 40,50,60,70.

It works great and power is very nice, no quirks.

And, a nice fuel mileage increase, too.

Level 5 -- 90 HP!

I finally got around to calling and getting the instructions for setting the jumpers to select the power level (I got my EZ so early, there were no instructions available yet). When I compared the jumper settings that mine came with to the instructions, it didn't match any of the 4 settings shown. A call back revealed there is actually a fifth setting, good for 90 HP, that they didn't include in the instructions. On the right-hand set of pins, the jumpers go on the left and middle set (as opposed to the middle and right for level 4).

That would explain why I've been so :D :D :D since I installed it! The good news for everybody else is my clutch is holding up fine so far, and I've put on almost 3,000 miles since hooking it up. My fuel mileage has been increasing lately, too (last tank 19. 0 MPG, and previous two 18. 2 & 18. 3), but I've been paying close attention to trying to lighten my foot, and the engine may be just starting to loosen up (I'm at about 8,500 miles).

After the middle of February I hope to to have a chance to go take advantage of Cummins Southeastern Power's free dyno check offer in Orlando--I'll certainly post results when I do.

EGT ON EDGE

I TOWED MY 5ER ON LEVEL #2, MILEAGE INCREASED 2 MPG AND THE EGT WAS OK TILL I PUSHED IT IN 5TH GEAR TO 3000 RPM AND IT WAS HEADED PAST 1250 DEG F BEFORE TURBO. I JUST INSTALLED 4" DOWN PIPE AND 5" FROM THERE BACK. I HAVEN,T HAD A CHANCE TO PULL 5ER YET, AT 15K LBS. EMPTY TRUCK FEELS STRONGER. TBOB

Just put the EZ and Boost Elbow on last night... Thanks Fred!

Unfortunatly the roads are wet so I couldnt tell much. On the freeway at 70mph the rear wheels would break loose when mashing the go pedal!

I'm heading out on a 8-900 mile road trip today. I will post an update this weekend.

sounds like the new six speed is holding the ez (75hp):D i hope it holds the 90hp increase. is the ez box causing the computer to throw any codes, besides overboost? If you use the ez and take it off before bringing truck to dealer make sure you clear the overboost code. this would be a sign that you have chipped the truck.

sounds like the 03's are responding better to ez boxes than in the past years models.

i am waiting for the bank to call to tell me to come get my loan so i can go pick up my truck! this is killing me the truck is just sitting at the dealer all lonley waiting on its daddy to show up.

Catcracker...

What dealer? I would be glad to go down and keep it company while you are waiting for the bank. :D I just hate for new trucks to get too lonely and since I can't afford one of my own... I will be glad to help you out. ;)

Good luck!

How do you clear overboost codes?

Also, my Dodge dealer said they could tell if a boost elbow had been installed because of the non-OEM clamp used to reinstall. Where can you get the OEM clamps?

You guys need to meet your service manager in person and start sending pizza and donuts to him/her. I have a chevy and a dodge dealership that take care of me due to kindness on my part BEFORE I needed them. I had a transmission replaced in my Impala SS that had lots of mods and broke down the day after I put 20+ drag strip runs on it. No questions asked. As long as it's under warranty they fixed it. ;)

I'm not sure on this truck but on a Ford an over boost code is cleared after 4 on/off key cycles. And on any vehicle that has OBDII you can clear the codes with a code reader. I have this one: http://www.obd-2.com

If your dealer is telling you they will void your warranty if there are not OEM clamps on the boost elbow then you need to find another dealer because they will be nothing but trouble.

Tell em you took it off to install your boost gauge and decided to tap in somewhere else. :-laf

You can pull the hose off with the factory clamp still in place to put a boost elbow on. Then put a very small amount of grease on the end of the elbow, and slide the hose and factory clamp back on.

or just do some customising... get some of that silicon colored hose [red, green, blue, yellow, pink etc. . ] and start swapping out and covering factory hoses and wires with it.

as far a affordability my note will end up being 400+ not to bad

to clear overboost codes go to auto zone they will clear them for you... . auto zone rocks.

boost code

Can't you just disconnect the batterers for 10 or 15 minutes to erase any codes the chip caused? Thats what I always did with my 99 and never had any problems with the service department at several stealerships.
