I am replacing the clutch in my 2002 HO tomorow and need any helpful hints. I did the clutch in my 95 5 speed and I assume there is little if any difference. I am going to a South Bend and of course new pilot and throwout bearings. Any comments?

The 6sp is alot heavier than the 5sp. The bellhousing is removed with the transmission with the 6sp. Other than that I can't think of anything diffrent than the 5sp.

Its done

I finished the job today. Did a SB clutch kit from Piers. It went quite well. The transmission jack was essential to completing the job. . The flywheel had a few hot spots as did the pressure plate. I had the flywheel machined and it only took a few thousands. Seems to be a nice clutch. Cant tell any dif in pedal feel and it seems to hold much better.

My 5sp transmission ripped it's fanny. I drove from Memphis to Columbus, Oh. in 4th gear, thats all I had. Its going to be a busy weekend.

02 clutch

I installed a South Bend from Piers. I cannot tell the dif in pedal effort. It holds very well. The only negitave is that it is a bit grabby when engageing it. Not a big deal it just takes some getting used to. If you are prone to start big loads in 2nd gear it is very annoying. I always use 1st gear to start loads and the clutch works very well.

Sorry, It is says con ofe on the box. It is a organic material on the pressure plate side and metalic on the flywheel side.
