BTW. . there are things that are not done correctly on the order sheets... some times dealers have to manually do them... like the limited slip 3. 54 wasn't shown in 01. 5's. . but many have it including me
When I tried to order they did the computer, and it kicked it back, then called dist. rep and also said could not get with Qcab and diesel,to much weight they said.
As you can see by my sig. I have the snow plow option with the heavier springs on my 02. Mine is a regular cab and the front on a certified scale does weigh 400 lbs less than my 2000 3500QC. But their reasoning seems backward to some extent, since the heavier springs would supply more support to your heavier frontend. On the other hand I guess they are saying even with the heavier springs the additional weight of your quadcab configuration along with a snow plow would even be to much for the 046 and 047 springs that come with the snow plow option.
I have a 03' standard output/47RE and I have the snowplow prep. I do not think their is a big difference in weight between the standard output and the high output so the next logical answer is transmission weight. The six speed and 48RE must weigh more and that must affect front axle weight. I do know that a HO with a six speed gets a towing weight reduction of about 100 pounds compared to a SO/47RE. I belive this is in direct reflection to the GCWR.
In case you are looking for a plow truck you have found it because these trucks plow snow like it's there sole job in life.

Sorry about the double post I am a computer reject. Also the 03's do not go by the old spring #'s they have new numbers to designate spring rates. If anybody has a chart for the new springs post it if you don't mind because I would like to see the different springs that are available.
