Went to my dealer to pick up a gallon of Mopar coolant to carry with me in my truck this summer. They wanted $22 for the gallon!!!! SO I went to my local auto parts store and found the Valvolene G-05 HOAT stuff. Says it's the ONLY dodge, Chrysler, FORD , approved coolant etc. . The cummins endorsement is on the back as well as a statement that it is designed for Heavy duty Diesel engines. So I got that instead for 11. 99 :-laf Only thing I didn't realize is it is not pre-diluted. If I am only using it in case of emergencies, do I need to mix it or could I top off full strength?? THanks!!

What, is that thing of yours still leaking? Just use it full strength, or split it 1/2 and 1/2 with distilled water and carry 2 gallons!

Dillute w/ distilled or de-ionized water only. Up to 50/50 in warm climates, 60/40 cooler climates (60 antifreeze/40 water). Check the label on mixes that are stronger.

No, I am carrying the coolant as precautionary as I do travel a LOT with my horses and sometimes it is a wide open lonely desolate road! LOLOLOL I still have my occasional little drizzle from the overflow on initial warm up, but really isin't anything to be concerned about..... I know the owners manual says I could use anything in an emergency but not going to if I don't have to! Oo.
