I broke the ends off both my holding tanks this weekend on my living quarter trailer. I am looking for best place to buy new tanks.

If the trailer is relatively new I'd start with the trailer manufacturer to order from them or at least learn who their source is. If they're no longer in business do google searches for "molded poly tanks", "rv holding tanks", and similar searches. When I needed one for a vintage Airstream a few years ago I found lots of tank manufacturers around the country. You could also talk to the parts managers in friendly RV dealerships. They run into broken or damaged holding tanks from time to time and have generic catalogs of poly tank makers they use.

If you just broke the nozzles off there are adhesives/epoxies that can be used to repair the pipe, of course if the tank is split you have no choice but to replace. bg

I can blame no one but myself on this one. When leaving the Rodeo Friday night I pulled off in to an area that had been bush hogged so some others could get around while I waited on the folks we were going to follow. Instead of backing up and pulling up on the road correctly I just eased back on the road. The road was a field road that was built up quite high, the long gooseneck took to long to get the tires up on the road and I drug the tanks when the tires hit a small hole. I cracked both tanks 3/4 of the way around the neck of the tank before the fittings. Both tanks cracked identical. I found the tanks for $290 each plus about $140 shipping. I am going to try to repair them I found a product called plasti-mend that has pretty good reviews and I have plastic welded four wheeler fenders before. Worst case scenario they still leak and I have to buy new ones.

I was going to do an in-depth review of the Plasti-mend product but I forgot to take pictures before I started and along the way so instead here is an abbreviated review.

This is the only one I have showing the damage. On the left side you can see where neck and valve assembly was.

I took the Plasti-mend kit which came with it's own cleaning pad and cleaning solution and cleaned the areas about 4 inches back from the damaged area. The kit comes with fiberglass window screen so I cut several strips so I could layer them around the crack all the way around the neck.
I put a small amount of the plasti-mend around tank side of the crack using it like glue. I then put the broken tank neck back on the tank. I sat about five pound of weight on the top of the neck and let it sit for about thirty mins. (Really however long it took me to change the oil in my truck. ). Next I took the included 2inch paint brush and applied a small amount along crack and then used that to hold the screen material in place. Then I applied a liberal coat over the screen material all around the neck and crack. Instructions claim to wait 1-4 hrs before second coat but I gave it 24hrs as I was doing it in the evenings after work. On one of my tanks I had a flap that didn't fit back in to the crack well so I left it alone till the orginal coat had set up, and then I put a fair amount on the crack side of the flap and took a c-clamp to it to hold in in the correct place. About 6hrs later it was there like it had never been torn off. I came back and put a second coat and a little more screen material as I went further up the neck trying to make sure I had plenty of support since I would be putting pressure on the repaired area every time I opened and closed the tank valve. After 24 more hours the repair was solid.

I had removed tanks because I had planed on replacing them, but I feel pretty certain I could have made the repairs while they were still on the trailer.
