I have an 02 3/4 ton 2wd with an auto and 3. 55 gears in the back... . I have been thinking about adding an Edge EZ box and probably a set of EDM Mach 1 injectors along with a PDR HX35 turbo... I was wondering what I would have to do to the transmission to get it reliably hold that kind of power... I do mainly highway driving with a bit of in city... I rarely tow or haul much more then 2000-3000 lbs although I do have a bit of a heavy right foot... . Any info I can get would be greatly appreciated... thx

Mine got sick with an EZ, DDII's and a stock 02 HX35 turbo in 2 weeks. (Pre TDR reading) I have to qualify that with the transmission has over 30,000 after life miles when I de-moded to just 275's. I'm still on the fence over which after market re-builder to use so your on your own with that.

You can play; just be ready to pay. I'm just cheap and watch the warning signs. You will know when the trans goes south. Have fun with the bug, maintained these trucks will take it. Mike

I'll be watching this thread. Sounds like the gang is saying there is NO beefing available other than a rebuild of XXX of $ - seems to be a $2K hit + or -.

I was auctually hoping to avoid having to get a complete transmission rebuild as the stock unit only has 56k miles on it... Does any one know what options are out there in the way of valve bodies?... I have seen one from ATS that claims to be able to support up to 320 hp on the stock transmission... Can anyone verify this?... . If not. . are there any other proven options out there?
