Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Hole Behind stock Lift Pump?

Im guessing its for the old mechanical pumps that ran off the cam. So about 2 years ago i removed the stock one and put on a frame mounted carter, didnt think anything of the gasket that was still stuck on the block. Now shes leaking. Tried to make a gasket and cover last night, still leaking#@$%!, what have you guys done?

I left the bracket in place.

yea i wanted to clean it up and not leave it on there, now i regret taking the bracket off!

It shouldn't be all that hard to fabricate a neat looking piece of flat stock to cover the hole - on mine, the OEM bracket is still in place after relocating the LP - but the flat stock method is what I'd use if it bothered me...

I just cut the pump mount off and left the backing plate on the block.

I think a Chevy gasser cover fits, try a speed shop. SNOKING
