I bought a Holley Blue today to use as a pusher? in my truck. will the stock fuel lines work with it or do I need to upgrade to larger lines? I plan on upgrading to a FASS later but can't afford it just yet, but need some more fuel psi in the meantime. I can pull my fuel press to nothing too easily and don't want to kill my CP3( I am suprised I haven't already). Do I need to use the regulator if I use it as a pusher? I think that I do. can the blue supply enough press by itself if I decide to use it by itself ? Thanks for your opinions!

James

I am running the holly blue by its self on stock fuel lines my fuel pressure runs 16. 5lbs at idle no lower than 8lbs floored. you don't need the regulator. I starched the releve valve spring a little to get that pressure, but you can buy a higher pressure spring if you want. if you use it as a pusher with your stock pump your idle pressure will be about 18-20 lbs

I have my detailed installation pics in my gallery!

I replaced my lift pump with the Holley Blue and get 14 psi at the CP3 feed and down to maybe 8-9 psi hammer down. I used the stock fuel line to the Holley spliced in with 3/8" fuel hose (slips over metal fuel line) then 3/8" fuel line to the filter then 3/8" to the CP3.

I used Scotty's kit BTW since he had all the fittings including custom made metric adapters. If you don't want his beefy metric adapters, you can use the Aeroquip "Weber" fuel fitting (available form Jegs or Summit Racing) out of the filter canister and into the CP3. If you remove the lift pump, you need an adapter into the filter housing. DD or Scotty kits have this adapter, or you can machine your own if you have a lathe, or some people have drilled and tapped the filter housing inlet for NPT fittings. Scotty will sell his fittings separately (or has in the past if you wanted to make your own pusher setup). With DD I believe you have to buy the whole kit including Carter pump.

I have a spare Holley Blue under my seat already wired with the Cummins lift pump plug just in case. No need yet after 20k miles. Pump is pretty quiet too.

The FASS sure does look nice and all, but the Holley works for me. I do have a 3-micron Racor filter head that I bought off DTR classified, but just haven't figured out how to plumb it in cleanly.

PM me if you need more info.

With regard to the Holley blue, why does their website say "gasoline only"?

JSteiger, are you running the regulator with your pump?

Ryan-

No regulator so if "anyone" wants the one that came with my Holley for a project it's theirs!

As far as gasoline versus diesel, I read that it was good for diesel

Im also running a holley blue(no regulator) in place of the the stock lift pump. I still have the stock fuel lines and I got all my stuff (except pump) from scotty and couldnt be happier.

I didn't see anywhere that it said gas only, mine said no Alcohol or methanol!

BTW, I got it installed today and it seems to be working well. I have it pushing to the stock lift pump w/o a regulator, and am seeing 25-27 psi prior to start an will only drop to 14-15 psi WOT with the TST on level 9.

hey fellas, just signed up a month ago. i just got my holley blue today and was wondering how to hook the wiring up. just concerned about winters for me. if i hook it up to switched 12v ignition fuse and the key just in the on position, the pump will run until the engine starts. would the fuel just run back to the tank or have too much pressure for pre-start? i'll be running it with my stock pump. 2005 truck

on a stock 05 truck, if you are doing it for added fuel delivery from mods, the stock in tank pump will hurt the performance. the holley blue pump will not be able to draw thru the in tank pump. the best way is to drop the tank and put a line in the tank to feed the pusher pump. then you can always run them seperate or together. all you have to do is run both pressure lines together before the filter assembly.

It won't pull through nearly as well as if you put them side by side..... It's been confirmed by more than me. Call Mark at TST and ask him also.
