home heating oil vs. diesel fuel pricing

Just heard on the news that home heating oil was going for $3. 30 per gallon.

My todays diesel fill up was per gallon was $3. 75. Can it cost that much between the two fuels. Is it due to winterizing the fuel or some other reason?

It's about . 42 tax on the diesel here. That;s about the difference here,

3. 08 heat oil, 3. 50~ish diesel.

Thanks, I forgot about the road tax or whatever its called. . Its different each state, here in Michigan its high.

Yeah, road taxes kill the prices of automotive fuel.

As for nationalization on the fuel and utilities, that's a question that could take 100 years to decide... Too much to debate.

Price caps don't work either. Just ask California when the electric bill went through the roof.
