Columbia sensor data for armchair accident investigators

I'm getting tired of the cost of inkjet cartridges for my printer. What recommendation do you have for a home laser? Does anybody have an HP 1200?

Be aware that HP will charge you for tech support even when installing a brand new product. I bought a HP scanner and never got a single scan on it and they wanted to charge me for help, it went back.

I have a Canon i550 and the print cartridges are $10 each for the 3 colors and $12 for the black and it does decent photo printing. I got rid of a HP because of the high cartridge costs.

Last summer, I purchased the Lexmark E210 desktop laser. I absolutely love it! I have printed over 1000 pages so far and am still on the first ink cartridge. Paid $100 at Office Depot.

I have an HP4 at home that's big and bulletproof. At work, the company bought me an HP 1100, and I've been very pleased with it. It's not built like the HP4, but it's cranked out lotsa paper! One of my buddies bought one on ebay a few weeks ago. Highly recommended!

Is the 1200 a newer model? They seem to change them every month or two.

What ever printer you get, don't get one that feeds the paper by gravity, ie HP 1100, 3100, etc. The HP 1200 has a bottom paper tray and feeds the paper much better. We had purchased about 100 HP 1100s here at work, and none of them lasted long enough to replace the toner cartridge.

I currently have an HP 1220 (that's the 1200 with the scanner) and have found it much better than the 1100s or 3100s I had before. It even scans in color, even though it will only copy and print in b&w.

While trying to identify replacement printers for the HP 1100s and 3100s, we evaluated comparable printers from Lexmark and Xerox. They weren't much better and the consumables were much more costly.

I bought a used HP color laserjet 5 because I was tired of buying 56 dollar inkjet cartridge sets for my epson 777 inkjet, I will never buy another epson product because the cartridges do not last long and the print head clogs with regularity

HP 3300MFP

Great multi-function laser printer / scanner / copy machine (one model has a fax too) Picked one up last year and it is running great. Its a little larger, but prints quick and takes care of making extra trips to the office to copy something.

Here at work (in the Alaskan Oil field) we use HP 2100M laserjet printers. They have held up beyond blief. The toner carts are expensive but last forever (like 2000 pages). I have put 5 toner carts through the one I have and it has no problems. I have also installed it probably 20 times (because we reload software about once a month) and it has been smooth every time. I have also done some not so reccomended stuff with mine..... like it freezing it solid in -20 F weather for three months, droped in on the floor once too. No problems, it just keeps printing.

There are about 10 of these being used by the company I work for and we have had zero problems. I have no idea what they cost though.

HP laser cartidges cost between $45 and $200. I'd check the cartridge cost before I committed to any model of laser printer.

I'm about ready to buy an HP 1200's and he sells replacement ones for $44. 95. I know they're suppose to last for I think 2500 pages - but in reality I'm not sure how long that is - I only know that it seems like we're always replacing ink-jet cartridges at $32. 00 each. Call Paul and he'll give you the scoop on cost etc.
