A while ago i posted a link for Coleman's surplus, they where selling surplus diesel blazer fuel tanks for 25. 00, well i've had mine sitting around for quit while now, well today i sitting staring at the thing and started fabricating brackets and hangers to put the tank in the old spare tire location, i've gotten the brackets made and the tank clamped under the truck waiting for plumbing and wireing, i'm planning on using the in tank fuel pump for a diesel blazer and let it pump directly into the stock tank, the filler neck is a direct shot to the back bumper right behind the license plate.

I posted some pictures on my web page at

Aux. Fuel Tank Install

i'll keep updating as progress continues .

I like the mounts you made, looks good. After seeing your post I went out and spent about 20" under my 1990 blazer looking at the gas tank and how it mounts. You really got me thinking... having the two side by side made it real easy to see. .

Did you look at taking the mounts out of a blazer, might make it easier to mount... just a thought. . Now I know you would have to relocate the filler or notch the frame for clearence for the filler tube if did it that way just seems it would be easier???

BTW if you can find a factory blazer the the factory skid plate for that tank. I have a 90 blazer (gas motor) with the same tank and the skid plate is really strong. It will support alot of weight mine has been tested several times... .

Good luck please keep us posted with the progress, once I finish some of my other projects I may take this one on. . I really need/ want a bigger tank.
