Honda Diesel???

Paul Harvey made a comment regarding how well Honda is doing regarding their corporation and also mentioned that Honda is working on producing a diesel for the US market.



Anyone else here of this?

Do they already offer a diesel elsewhere at all?

I wonder if they are developing something in-house? Or a partnership?



I hope this is true.

They have their own engine. It has been available elsewhere in the world for a while now. It has sold well beyond expectations and is supposedly a GREAT engine... power of their V-6 gassers with better fuel economy than the 4-cylinder gassers. I remember reading an article on this engine a while back. Last I heard, it is coming this way with the introduction of ULSD. I hope so! More diesels is a good thing!

Quite impressive in the second article where the thing is FAST and achieved 76. 6 US MPG!! Damn a hybrid! Bring this diesel on!! A gutless hybrid gasser is lucky to get 40 mpg. This diesel probably could not be forced to get less than 40 mpg!!

diesel power magazine had an article about it.

the vehicle was a honda accord wagon and got somewhere around mid 40s hiway.
