Finally got to meet Sled Puller!!

This is Funny although not PC

(Not knowing much of anything about Goldwings might make this statement all the more ludacris... ) How are they not burning up the clutch/transmission in that bike?

That's pretty cool, though.

Well, I have a 99 gold wing. Ain't no way in hell you will catch me towing a vehicle. Yes it is powerful, smart clutch and throttle will work. What about stopping 3500llbs, surge brakes???

Great idea though... Just not for me...

That pretty cool! Seem like a great fix for traffic problems. The first hot day of the year here in Denver there are broke down cars everywhere. Takes forever for a towtruck to get there. Wouldn't be a problem if people could just figure out how to get their car off the road. Funny how no one will stop and help you in traffic. I have been standing there holding a strap hooked to my busted down old pos and no one even stopped to help! Musta though I was gonna throw that strap over my shoulder and tow it off the road myself. Had to wait till a friend showed up 10min later.

I wouldn't want to pull a car with my bike any farther than the next exit! Be kinda of like those people you see pulling a 30ft travel trailer with their explorer. What happend to those days of throwing a sack of 100s and a spare pair of undies in the saddle bag and taking off for a long weekend?

They said there are aux brakes on the dolly wheels and the center wheel... I imagine they designed a heavier clutch... had to... also probably lowered the gear ratios... . notice on most of the videos, it wasn't doing 70-80 mph... . built for a certain speed, the ratios would be sorted out for towing... .

This is the second clip I've seen on this device.

To me, it still looks like a disaster waiting to happen. The first clip had a segment where it towed a small sedan in a parking lot and made a right turn, braking. The sedan pushed the tail of the bike around a LOT. Yeah, I know, it's only intended to get the stalled vehicle out of traffic, but I still don't think that it's a workable solution.

What if they used one of those Goldwing trike conversions?

I bet that would help with rearend stability...

You gotta applaud what these folks came up with.

Matt

A trike conversion would defeat it's ability to lane-split. And every trike conversion I've side is wider than what the tow rig folds up into.

I guess I need to pay more attention the the trikes I see on the highways. For some reason, I thought they were only a little bit wider than the big honkin' saddle bags that the 2-wheeled Goldwings have.
